Stewart McCheyne is a Scottish Actor Musician and Voice Over.
He comes from a wee village in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland.
Growing up he was always interested in music and performing. He started off aged 4 singing Gaelic and other traditional Scottish folk songs, competing throughout Scotland. He later developed an interest in playing Drums and Guitar. Over the years, he played in many bands, orchestras, sung in choirs, and performed in local drama groups.
At 17 he left Argyll and moved to Glasgow to begin training on the HND Musical Theatre course at Stow College (Glasgow Kelvin). At Stow, he began to develop his skills professionally and performed in larger productions and concerts. He was also in a rock band playing gigs in venues and festivals all over the country. During training, Stewart worked as an extra. He began to get small speaking roles in various TV programmes which gave him confidence to apply to drama schools.
After a successful audition, Stewart went on to train on the BA (Hons) Actor Musicianship degree course at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance in London. Whilst there he starred in many plays and musicals which showcased his talents. He graduated in 2012 and is represented by Jimmy Jewell at Jewell Wright Ltd and Babble Voices.
Since graduation he has consistently worked in Theatre, TV, Voice Overs and as a Musician.
Stewart also has a passion for stage combat and sword fighting in which he is highly trained. This has allowed him to work as a fight choreographer or captain in short films, plays and musicals.
In 2018 Stewart joined the children’s TV Rock band “Andy and the Oddsocks” and have since performed at venues and festivals all over the UK, released three Albums, recorded a Podcast on BBC Sounds and filmed four TV series for CBBC called “Andy and the Band”.
Stewart is a regular Pantomime Comic and can be seen at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells. In 2024 he was proudly nominated as the UK’s Best Comic at the UK Pantomime Awards.
